SV stratosale

Looking for a MIM Fender? SV Guitars is now having a Stratosale. To be frank, $720 NETT price is rather tempting.

June 9th - Les Paul Day

Have you check the Google page today? You will notice a 'guitar' on the Google.
9th of June. Les Paul (both the guitar and the guitarist) fans will know what is so special about today.
It is the birthday of Lester William Polsfuss, better known as Les Paul.
Lester William Polsfuss (aka) Les Paul
Here is my favourite advertisement. Supposed to be a Beer commercial...

Emily The Weird....Strange I mean

Swee Lee's other bundle.
Although it said 'G-310', don't be misled into thinking this SG has the same specs at the original SG G-310. The original's body is made of Alder while Emily version is basswood.

Satriani COMBO

Swee Lee's newest bundle.
As stated above. Do note that you will be getting a CORT CGC 70 HARDCASE, not Ibanez.

Is there tremolo for bass?

A friend of mine was saying: "Why there is no tremolo for basses?" Who says bass guitars do not have a tremolo? Well, Kahler has tremolo bridges for basses, you see.

Kahler is not something new. It is well-established since 1979. My dear friend just need to check up more on the Internet before coming to a conclusion. =)

Zoom R8

Zoom is a producer of effect processors as well as recorders.
The above shows a Zoom R8. It is a shrunken version of its big brothers R24 and R16. Actually, R24 and R16 aren't that big. But R8 is even shorter than your 30cm ruler. It is small enough to fit into your guitar bags and it is lighter. It allows you to record your jamming sessions. Best of all, it allows multi-track recording without a computer.
It has a built-in drum machines (like many Zoom pedals do) and you can adjust the audio settings of your track. It also has a few built-in guitar effects to please the guitarists. And like many other records/pedals with recording function, Cubase LE 5 DAW software is bundled together with it.

But.. the smaller something gets, the more complicated the controls are. -.-" Well, nevermind. There is always a manual for reference!

2nd Behringer

I just got a new Behringer stompbox. This time, it is an overdrive unit. I do not own many Behringer units. In fact, I only got two, a clean booster and a OD. I bought both from the same person (subversion). xD

Here is my new Vintage Tube Overdrive V911.
 V911 in its box
I'd always like to buy stuffs from subversion. He always keep his stuffs well and new. It is always in its tip-top condition.
 V911

It is not a tube-emulating unit. It really has a tube overdrive. You can find a 12AX7 in it if you would open it up and take a look at its 'innards'. You can always replace this tube with some other tubes manipulate its tone.
Still trying it out at the moment. All I can say now is: It has a crispy overdrive tone.

More V-PICKS!

Well, my V-picks collection has grown by 2 extra members, Shredder and Screamer.

As you can see, Shredder is the triangle in shape. It is triangle so that the ends are thin and sharp. Everything about it is 'sharpness' even its edges. Apparently, it serves well for shredding as its name appeals. However, it is not as good for chords.

Screamer is much like the original V-pick. The difference is that the beveling is much more than the original; it has a longer bevel. A picture always speaks a thousand words.
The manufacturer say the longer bevel creates sharp attack, brighter tone & more volume (which is precisely why it is named 'Screamer'). Screamer and Acoustic are the exact same model. And yes, Screamer indeed produce a brighter tone but it may be excessive when used to play on the acoustic, especially if you are playing rhythm.

V-picks can be purchased from Brendon from BGW Guitars.

Next V-pick on my buying list: Dimension Unbuffed.

Once again, Sale at Katong

Sometimes, I wonder when will this renovation be actualised. How many months has it been since Swee Lee Katong has been announcing their 'Renovation Sales'? Well, does this matter? As long as there is a sale, the consumers will be at an advantage, isn't?
I only find the bass package interesting. GSR is the Gio version of Sound Gear and it is supposed to give the famous Soundgear sleekness, comfort, tone, and playability.

Romanic..

Modtone is currently working on producing a reverb. You would have known about this if you have read my last post on Modtone. They called it "Coliseum Reverb". I wonder why they choose to give it a Romanic name.
This is how it will look like. How it sounds like? Well, no idea. It is still 'coming soon'. Not yet available. =) However, once it is available, I am sure SV Guitars will bring them down.
