The CIOKOLATE Fever

Well, of all things edible on Earth, Chocolate is my favourite food. So anything that sounds like Chocolate will surely get my interest, even if it is an inedible pedal power.

Good news for those who have just too much pedals on their rig. Cioks is coming up with CIOKOLATE! 16 outlet power supply for you (because 10 outlets are too mainstream! =P )

That's the good news. Every good news is followed by a bad one. The bad news is CIOKOLATE is a celebration for Cioks' 20th anniversary (Cioks has been around since 1992, a year before I was born). Well, not exactly bad if you'd think of it. It is already July by tomorrow and August is just a month away!

SOLD: Cioks Baby Mach 2 pedal power supply

I am selling my Cioks Baby Mach 2 power supply as the title has suggested. It is basically a 5 output power supply, 4 output of 200mA each and one isolated output of 100mA. It is about 1-2 months old. I bought it from another person who wish to sell it after owning it for just 2 weeks. A new one costs $99.
Cute little power supply
....that is smaller than the Grunge and can easily fit in underneath PT-mini. Not sure about nano.

  • Includes all the original Flex cables that came along with it.
  • 2 additional split Flex cables (30cm & 50cm) worth $15 each included.
  • A receipt of the purchase is found inside the box for the 6-month warranty.
  • Condition: 9/10. Won't give it a 10/10 since it is over 1 month old.
  • SOLD
SOLD to a very nice guy on 12:48 pm.
Reason for selling: Getting a new pedal power with more juice!

    Long wait...

DC-8... something that is supposed to be released by Week 35. I am not sure what calender they are using but week 35 should be on 25th of August. However, it's already September and DC-8 is still nowhere to be seen, both in Singapore or other countries. I tried searching for it online but I still can't find it.
To be frank, I'm losing my patience. Plus, Voodoo Lab PP2+ is on sales at a tempting price.

    This is Week 35

This week is Week 35 of 2011. Anything special about this week? Well, not really unless you are looking forward to new Cioks stuffs, DC8. Week 36 marks the release of AC8.
I am looking forward for its release. Some may argue that Voodoo Lab is better and so on. However, DC-8 is definitely more useful if all your pedals feed on DC supply. Another good thing about DC8 is that it can fit under Pedaltrain 2.

    Cioks DC10 and PT2 Issue

I had a friend who just got a Cioks DC10 and when he tried to fit beneath his Pedaltrain PT2. Normally, this shouldn't be a problem for PT Pro but for any other Pedaltrains, U will find the whole board pivoting on the DC10 instead. Mounting it on top of the board is easy however it is very space-consuming.

There are many ways to make the DC10 fit beneath the board though.
    1. Cut off some part of the rail like what this picture suggest.
The owner cut of part of the rail so that he can mount the DC10. This is definitely the solution but the task is difficult if you don't have the appropriate tool to cut it.

    2. Replace the feets of Pedaltrain with a higher ones.
A much simpler solution. Cioks sells these feets in their DC10 mounting kit. Pedaltrains are more Voodoo Lab friendly.

Or you could just wait for DC8/AC8. They will fit in the board according to the manufacturer.

    Power from a Baby!

Alright, I got a power supply for my pedals. I am not intending to have to many pedals on my rig. So I would consider getting a Pedaltrain Jr? Well, I don't know. It all depends on this: $$$$$. And I probably won't be getting anything else for a while.
Anyway, I got this Cioks Baby Mach 2. Note that it is not new. I got it second-hand.
The seller left the receipt in the box. It was bought fresh from TY Music on 11 Jul. So this Baby Mach 2 is less than 2 weeks old. TYMC provides a 6-month warranty service as well so the warranty is still valid.
For the price I paid, it is a very good deal. I didn't have to go all the way down to City Hall and I get a near brand new Baby Mach 2. I am really glad that the seller came all the way to my place to  pass this to me. (Thank you very much for that Bro Bob!)
It comes with 5 Flex cables. 2 long ones, 2 short and one with positive tip. Looks like I will need to get another flex cables. I don't have any use for the positive tip, unless I'm getting some Dunlops or EHX pedals.

As for its size, see the above photo. It is smaller than the Digitech Grunge there. That shows how light and compact it is. Less than a kilogram. It has LED lights to indicate any overloading.

TY Music Center has a whole range of Cioks Power Supply there.
