Daylight robbery

A few weeks ago, I emailed Swee Lee on the inquiry on these two guitars namely:

Fender Blacktop™ Stratocaster® HH
&

Classic Series '72 Telecaster® Deluxe

This is what Swee Lee replied:

Black Top by Fender @ SGD$1,199 nett.
We have the following: 2009 FDR 72 TELE DLX NAT SGD$2,080.

And guess what, I thought they made a mistake. So I emailed them again and ask for confirmation on the spec (to see if it is the same as the one i have in mind). The answer came in that it is exactly the same, MIM classic deluxe.

Brendon at www.BGWguitars.com sells the classic 72 for $1120 and the blacktop for $850.
See the price difference? Swee Lee really is a big big scammer here. Well... at least for this case.

i'm not siding swee lee on this one (i don't work for theim either) but pricing differences are attributable to other factors. business entities have their own reasons for tagging their items with particular asking prices. if we can find alternative sources with a more competitive price tag, we are at liberty to get from the more attractive dealer. it's definitely not a scam, just the failure to provide a more worthy consideration. peace, bro :-)
